Program a DS1 in a flash

DS1 in a flash

I was able to programmed a new circuit and tested in less than 20 minutes. I already had the DS1 TN464 installed on Port Network 14 Carrier A Slot 13, using the internal ICC CSUs connected to the Service Provider’s Smart Jack. The TN Board was already running the firmware compatible with System’s version. (Check your Avaya Hardware Comparability Matrix for more information). The Service Provider had their Signaling and Bearer channels built the only thing left releasing them from busied state.

The three steps for a quick DS1 configuration=

  1. Add ds1 + Slot Number
  2. Add Sig + number (try to match it to the Trunk Group ID)
  3. Change Trunk + number (for new Trunk Groups use the “add’ command)

Already inserted the system should recognize the board, so run the following command=

Add ds1 PNCCSS (Port Network +Carrier+ Slot) in my case 14a13) – Add ds1 14a13.

Looking at the DS1 Form, location = this is the slot assigned to the DS1

  • 0= CID# (Circuit ID Number) this name could be anything – I normally use the CID# for future troubleshooting tagging information.
  • 1= Line Coding = B8ZS (Bipolar 8-Zero Substitution)
  • 2= ESF (Extended Super Frame)
  • 3= ISDN-PRI
  • 4= Protocol = B (Ni2)
  • 5= Integrated
  • 6= Slip= Yes / Echo Cancellation= n
  • Note: Changes to echo cancellation settings on the Trunk Features screen do not take effect until after a port or trunk group is busied-out/released, or the SAT command test trunk gro

up is performed, or periodic maintenance is run. Echo cancellation is turned on or off on a per trunk-group basis using the change trunk-group command. If the trunk group field, DS1 Echo Cancellation is y, echo cancellation is applied to every TN464HP/TN2464CP trunk member in that trunk group. The echo cancellation parameters used for a given trunk member are determined by the EC Configuration number administered on the DS1 Circuit Pack screen for that specific trunk’s board.

Add Sig + number (try to match it to the Trunk Group ID) in this case I’m using 10

AvayaAura_Signaling_Form_IPServTechnologies (c)

  • 1= isdn-pri
  • 2= D-Channel location (14a1324
  • 3= Trunk Group associated to signaling group (Trunk Group Associated with the b-channels).

Change Trunk + number (for new Trunk Groups use the “add’ command)

Trunk Group Form IPServ_Technologies (c)

Trunk Group Form IPServ_Technologies (c)

  • 1= isdn
  • 2= PRI/BRI
  • 3= Call by Call or CBC

Then go to the Group Member Assignment page and add your b-channels 14a1301, 141302, 141303 thru 141323 as the last one.
